Shreveport, La. – Five companies have were awarded Air Force Global Strike Command (AFGSC) contracts following the 2026 Capability Showcase, hosted by SBCC, to connect emerging commercial technologies with critical Air Force mission requirements.
The awards represent a tangible outcome of the Showcase, which brought together industry innovators, military leaders, and acquisition professionals to identify promising solutions and advance technologies addressing operational challenges.
From an initial field of 114 companies, 18 finalists were selected to present their capabilities. Five companies ultimately received contracts from AFGSC across four technology challenge areas:
· Infleqtion Quantum, LLC – Quantum Sensing Beyond Positioning, Navigation and Timing (PNT)
· Xos Fleet – Deployable Charging Solutions for Electrified Support Equipment and Vehicles
· Addiguru – Rapid Certification Framework for Advanced Manufacturing
· MatterWave – Rapid Certification Framework for Advanced Manufacturing
· Bright Silicon Technologies – Large Aircraft Defensive Systems
Together, the awarded projects totaling $5M, address challenges ranging from resilient sensing and navigation to deployable energy infrastructure, advanced manufacturing, and aircraft survivability.
“Our work begins with understanding the mission challenge and identifying technologies with the potential to solve it,” said Tom Wilcox, Chief Operating Officer at SBCC. “The Capability Showcase brings those elements together, connecting commercial innovators with the government stakeholders who can move promising solutions forward. These five awards are a tangible example of that approach in action.”
Through its work supporting AFGSC, SBCC helps identify and evaluate commercial technologies aligned with government requirements, connecting innovators with mission stakeholders and supporting the progression of promising solutions toward operational use.
The five contract awards mark an important step in that process, moving selected technologies beyond evaluation and into funded development efforts.
The 2026 Showcase demonstrates how focused engagement between government and industry can translate operational challenges into opportunities for capability development, supporting SBCC's commitment to moving promising technologies from requirement toward readiness.
